Review by hotel critic
Our family had a delightful stay at Grand Central in Shanghai, and it quickly became our top pick for city trips. The hotel ambiance was inviting, and we appreciated the spacious rooms—perfect for our family of four, especially since I’m 6’1” and could actually fit comfortably in the bath! Breakfast was a family favorite, showcasing a delightful mix of Western and Chinese options that catered to everyone’s tastes, from my kids’ love for dumplings to my wife’s preference for toast and eggs. After a great meal, we took a quick dip in the swimming pool, a refreshing way to cool off after our summertime outings. The location is a significant advantage, with Nanjing Road's vibrant pedestrian street just steps away. Plus, the metro station was only a short walk, making it easy to explore the city. A little competitive game of billiards after dinner brought us all together, strengthening our family bond. Grand Central is a fantastic family-friendly option in Shanghai!
